If you’re thinking about getting aesthetic injectable treatments, educate yourself and visit a trained aesthetic-specialty physician to ensure that you receive the best possible treatment.

When will I see results? Botox begins to take effect in 3-4 days and will reach full results in approximately 2 weeks. Fillers on the other hand have an immediate effect. Appearances may change slightly over the coming weeks as the filler softens and hydrates under the skin.

How long does Botox last? On average, Botox lasts about 3-4 months.

How long do Fillers last? Most fillers, such as Juvederm, last for about a year.

How long does it take to get Botox or Filler? Injectables, such as Botox and Juvederm, require a relatively short office visit that should take on average 30 minutes when performed by an experienced practitioner.

Is there any downtime? It is recommended to have either injectable procedure administered at least 1-2 weeks before any special engagements due to bruising at the site of injection and to reach optimal results. Patients are advised to wait 24 hours before taking part in any strenuous activities.

When should I start getting Botox? Can it be preventative? Many physicians believe that Botox can help prevent wrinkle formation by temporarily weakening the muscles that contribute to their formation. It is appropriate to use in adults who begin to see evidence of fine line formation.

Are Botox and Fillers Safe?  Both Botox  and fillers are overall very safe; much safer than a lot of frequently used medications. Allergic reactions are very rare and products used in the U.S. have undergone formal clinical trials and are approved by the FDA for specific indications. It is not approved for children or women who are pregnant. Since it is unknown whether Botox is excreted in breast milk, nursing women should take caution.

Will my face look natural and still have expression?  When administered by an experienced physician, you can still smile, frown, and look surprised. Aesthetic injectable treatments are technique-sensitive procedures, so make sure to visit a well-trained, aesthetic -specialty physician for your treatment and discuss the optimal results you would like to achieve.

How Much Does Botox Cost? Botox is charged per unit of product used to treat a particular region of the face and ranges from $10-$20 per unit. For most regions of the face, such as the forehead, the typical cost is about $300. Beware of cheap Botox prices that are too good to be true and always make sure to ask what brand they are using.

How Much Do Fillers Cost? Fillers like Juvederm are charged per 1 mL syringe and typically cost around $500-600. The cost per day, based on how long the product lasts, is about $3 per day for Botox, and about $1.50 per day for filler. Beware of low injectable prices that are too good to be true and always make sure to ask what brand they are using.
